INSTAX BOOK COVERS

Hello everyone! Today I have an exciting video which I recently filmed. This video is in collaboration with Instax and it was so much fun making these little notebooks with the instax prints on the front. I think it also looks super cute. Please don't forget to like and subscribe to my channel for more videos!

See you soon! x

GEOMETRICAL INSTAX DISPLAY

Hello everyone! Its been so long, but I feel like jumping into the post straight away so here we go!!

Today I came up with the most brilliant idea that is this hanging geometrical instax display!!
Ok bu seriously, when I put this up it looked so good, and the blue colour theme works so well with my baby blue walls...

You will need //

Blu tack
String / twine
Black cardboard or colour of your choice
Pegs
Instax Prints

Step 1 //

Measure out your string twine to how long you want. I made mine like 30-40cm which fit 4 instax prints pretty well

Step 2 //

Peg your instax prints onto the twine in your chosen order...

Step 3 //

Cut out your shapes out of your cardboard. I did 2 spheres, triangles and 2 squares.

Step 4 //

Blu Tack your prints onto your wall or where you want to display them! I put a blob of blu tack underneath the string, stuck the string over it and then placed another blob on top so it would be stronger!

Step 5 //

Add your shapes and you're done!

This is what mine looked like after I finished...

I've got heaps more posts planned so keep your eyes peeled! I'm so glad holidays are finally here... How are you planning to spend your break?

DIY INSTAX PEG STAND

Hello everyone! It's been so so so long since i've posted on my blog and to be honest its really because i've been lacking inspiration and ideas etc... But today I have a DIY post for you featuring my instax prints. I decided to print out a couple of quotes onto my instax film and the end result is actually so awesome, I think it looks super cute. Anyway, onto the post!!

First of all, you're going to need the following:

- BluTac
- Instax Prints / quotes
- Little wooden pegs
- A wooden plank

Step 1 //

Lay out your prints and decide the order you're going to display them in

Step 2 //

Place pegs onto the bottom of your prints

Step 3 //

Place your BluTac around the back of your peg like this... It's hard to explain but just look at the following pictures ahahahah

Step 4 //

Place your BluTac'd pegs onto your wooden plank like...

And then you're done! This DIY is really easy and it makes a huge difference to your room. I just love the quotes so so much.

Hope to see you soon! x

the instax SHARE or the instax mini

hello everyone! today i have a review post which basically sums up my thoughts on both the fujifilm instax mini 8 as well as the instax SHARE. this post is for all of the people who have asked me if i think the SHARE is worth investing in. hopefully after reading this post you'll have a better idea of whether to buy the instax mini 8 or the instax SHARE!

i received my instax SHARE about 3 or so months ago and in this time have used it to print about 20 photos. i find that being able to print photos from your phone is really helpful if you don't want to carry anything around with you. the app which you can print from is extremely easy to use and it connects well with the printer.

the pros of the fujifilm instax SHARE:
1 // print photos from your phone within minutes wirelessly
2 // preview your photos before you print them
3 // option to reprint photos
4 // various templates and settings which you can adjust on the app
5 // passcode for your printer so that nobody else can print on it!

some negatives of the instax SHARE:
1 // photos sometimes come out brighter than you thought
2 // not as capable of capturing the precision of photos like the instax mini 8

although the photos do come out brighter than they look on the app, this gives them a softer impression and would be like using the 'high key' setting on the mini. to avoid making them print overexposed, edit the contrast and make the photo darker than it is before printing. i would recommend the SHARE if you tend to take heaps of photos on your phone and don't really want to carry something around. it's great if you're printing out photos that you took on holiday because what makes me a bit upset is when i get a really good photo on the mini 8 but then that's the only copy of the photo that ill ever have :( and then i don't have a digital copy that sucks so i guess thats what makes the instax SHARE desirable. also, its hard to waste film using the instax SHARE because you can preview your photos and all of that so thats definitely one thing to consider because film can be pretty costly if you waste some.

if you look closely you can see how the instax mini photo is very clear and details are extremely accurate (the faces are detailed), where as with the instax share it is slightly less clear (the faces are slightly overexposed meaning that less detail is visible).

again, you can see a slight difference in the clarity of the photos.

this camera is probably one of my favourite gifts i have ever received. i got it at for christmas in 2013 and i have taken it on so many adventures and captured the most gorgeous moments.

heres an outline of the pros of this camera:
1 // prints detailed images from 60cm up to about 2-3 metres
2 // user friendly- just point and shoot
3 // 5 different light settings
4 // a viewfinder so that you know what you are taking the photo of
5 // comes in 7 different colours

cons of the instax mini 8:
1 // close up photos are usually out of focus (photos closer than 60cm)
2 // long distance photos are also out of focus
3 // sometimes photos come out overexposed or underexposed
4 // auto-flash goes off everytime and there is no way to turn it off
5 // the viewfinder isn't 100% accurate

luckily there are ways to avoid the above:
1 // buy an instax close-up lens to prevent blurry close up photos here
2 // to prevent overexposed or underexposed photos, first point your camera to where you want to take the photo, then look at the indicator near the lens of your camera. turn the dial to the setting which the light is on. for the brightest photo, use high key.
3 // there is no way to get around the auto-flash however i find that this makes the camera unique - why buy an instax camera if you want to take the best possible photos? this camera is meant to easily capture photos without having to change plenty of settings and all the photos i have taken with this camera have the retro feel with the flash.
4 // to avoid inaccuracy when taking a photo, look through your viewfinder and make sure the subject of the photo is in the middle, then turn your camera slightly down and slightly to the left. keep experimenting until you get the hang of it!

remember that your first 10 or so photos won't come out perfect and thats just how its going to be. you have to learn your camera and keep trying even so that you improve your photos :)

i would suggest that if you are most likely going to be taking mid-range or close-up photos and don't mind getting the hang of the camera and experimenting to see which settings work best for you, buy the instax mini 8.
if you tend to take more photos on your phone, definitely buy the instax SHARE. if you want your photos to come out at normal exposure then make sure to edit them a bit darker before you print them!
sometimes photos might come out blurry or overexposed or underexposed but this is just something thats inevitable so expect that if you are buying an instant camera. that's where the true character of the camera comes in because its always a surprise as you are waiting for the film to develop + its totally unique! you will never ever be able to capture that moment again so its quite beautiful really (sorry for my ramble ahah).
obviously, both the SHARE and the mini 8 have their own strengths so it really depends on what you're going to be using it for, the price budget you have etc etc..

i hope you enjoyed this post! please comment if you found it helpful or have any other questions, i'm more than happy to answer them. see you again soon xx

instax photo line diy

Hello everyone!
This has got to be one of my favourite posts to write and create to show you all. as you may have noticed from my billions of photos involving my instax mini 8 and instax SHARE, I obviously have a bit of an obsession with my much loved pocket-sized prints. here is a diy which is so so so easy to make and it makes your room or wherever you decide to place it look so much more homely (if that even makes sense) so here we go...

scroll down 4 photos to get to what you will need...

you will need //
1 // many instax mini prints
(if you have a matching colour palette of prints get those out as they will compliment each other)

2 // a good amount of blu-tack

3 // a pine rod, cut to your size preference
(I got mine from Mitre 10 and on the receipt this is what it says: "MLD RAD SD12X12 D4S CLR UT 1.8M" if that is helpful at all)

1 //
place lots of blu tack along your rod in different sizes. put a lot in the middle as this is where it will be the least stable

2 //
place your rod somewhere along your wall where you would like your display to be (i put mine above my desk)

3 //
once you have firmly stuck your rod onto your chosen place, start placing your instax prints along it like so...

until you end up with this...

(do you see how well the colours go?! i'm in love...)

you're done! now take a few photos to put on instagram and admire your new wall decor!

let me know what you think and if you do create your instax wall of your own be sure to let me know!

see you all again next week xx

diy instax gift tags

Hello! I've been super busy in Australia and even though i've had these photos for a few days I still haven't really done anything with them. I know it's now very close to Christmas but this could be a cute add on which adds a cute bit of detail to any present or gift.

Let’s get started!

You will need //

~ Instax Mini Prints
~ Coloured card (I chose Christmas colours green and red for this!)
~ Scissors or a craft knife, we didn’t have a craft knife but it would be easier if you did have a craft knife
~ A ruler
~ A pencil or pen
~ A hole punch
~ Double sided cello tape or a glue stick

Step 1 //

Measure 10.5cm long x 7cm wide on your card using your pencil or pen as demonstrated in the photos below. Make two of these rectangles.

Step 2 //

Cut both of your squares out now

So now you will end up with two of these

Step 3 //

Now measure 2.5cm and rule a line on two corners, this is really hard to explain but basically just do it like I have done below on the shorter side rather than the longer side. Do this on both of your rectangles as they have to be exactly the same or as close as possible to the same.

And then you will end up with two of these

Step 4 //

Now take your instant print and pencil around the edges where you will cut slits to slide the photo into. You will do this on every corner of your instant photo and only on one of the rectangles. The other one will be put to use later.

Step 5 //

Now that you have marked where you want to cut, you can use a craft knife or scissors to cut where you have marked.

When using scissors: make sure you cut through the card deeply and not just a shallow cut. You may have to turn the card over and make a cut on the other side to get through the card.

Step 6 //

Slide your photo into the cuts you have made and then get your double sided cello tape. This is wear the other piece of card comes in handy! With the cello tape cut a few pieces of it (see two photos down) and stick it on the other piece of card like so. Once you have done this you can peel of the backing of the double sided cello tape and stick the two pieces of card together.

Step 7 //

Now that you have stuck your pieces of card together, you can use your hole punch to make a hole through the top of your gift tag.

You’re done! Make as many gift tags as you want and use them to spice up your gifts! I really like the Instax wrapping paper that Harri from vanilla craft blog made. See her diy here!

Merry Christmas everyone and I hope you all get wonderful presents!

I’d love to hear from you! Comment below what you think of this post!
